Solar panels for schools and academies in the North West and North Wales
Installing solar panels at your school or academy in North West England or North Wales is a smart way to reduce your carbon footprint and energy bills. By cutting electricity costs, your school could free up more budget to invest in student education, resources, and facilities.
Energy challenges for schools and academies
It is estimated that public schools and academies could reduce their energy costs by around £40 million per year if they implemented simple energy efficiency measures such as solar PV, as well as offsetting over 600,000 tons of CO2. This would not only reduce costs for schools but also improve conditions for pupils and the local community.
The implementation of solar PV could help to free up additional money, which can be reinvested in schools or academies. These additional funds could go towards better facilities or curricular resources for pupils.
We understand some schools may have restricted budgets or not have the upfront funds to invest in solar. For this reason, we are partnered with financial institutions that can offer the best solar finance packages.

Benefits of solar panels for schools
Solar panel financing for schools and academies in the North West and North Wales
If the funds for a solar PV system at your school or academy aren’t possible to raise, you could consider a power purchase agreement (PPA). PPAs are becoming a very popular way for schools to fund solar installations in the UK. If your available roof space is suitable, your school could benefit from a solar installation for free.
A PPA for your school is installed for free and financed by the PPA provider. The electricity generated by your solar panels is then sold to your school at an agreed rate, which is significantly cheaper than your current energy price. This price is fixed, so it will not change and will help to reduce your energy costs by thousands across the year.
