Toolpak Limited, Wrexham

Introduction

Toolpak is a UK-based supplier of power tool accessories and related products for the construction, trade and industrial sectors. Based in Wrexham, North Wales, the company operates from a busy site with growing energy demands. Following a company-wide spending review, Toolpak identified electricity as a major and unpredictable overhead and began exploring business solar as a way to take control of long-term energy costs while improving sustainability.

This solar PV case study highlights how a tailored commercial solution delivered both financial and environmental benefits.

The Challenge

Toolpak wanted to reduce its reliance on volatile energy markets and improve the environmental performance of the site. With on-site energy usage expected to increase over time, they needed a solution that would:

  • Deliver reliable, long-term savings
  • Protect the business from future electricity price rises
  • Reduce carbon emissions
  • Be installed with minimal disruption to daily operations

They were looking for a trusted partner to deliver a high-quality commercial solar installation that would future-proof their energy strategy.

Our Solution

Rawson Solar designed and installed a bespoke 52kWp rooftop solar PV system consisting of 120 solar panels.

The system now generates over 46,000kWh of clean, renewable energy each year, with approximately 70% of that power used directly on site. As a result, more than 55% of Toolpak’s electricity demand is now met by solar energy.

The installation was completed by our experienced team in under a week, with zero disruption to Toolpak’s operations.

The Outcome
    • Delivering meaningful carbon reductions year after year. The solar PV system has transformed the way Toolpak manages its energy. By generating a significant proportion of its electricity on site, the business has reduced its exposure to volatile energy markets and secured long-term cost stability.  Key outcomes include:
      • Offsetting a major share of annual electricity demand.
      • Reducing reliance on unpredictable grid pricing.
      • Achieving long-term financial savings.

Forward-thinking businesses like Toolpak are proving that business solar isn’t just good for the planet – it’s a smart commercial decision that strengthens resilience, protects the bottom line, and future-proofs energy strategy.
