Client Requirements

Reducing Electricity Costs with Solar PV for Poultry Farming

Hoseley Bank Farm, one of the largest poultry rearing businesses in North Wales, wanted to lower rising electricity costs and improve sustainability across their operations. With high energy usage to provide heating and maintain production, they needed a reliable solar PV solution that would deliver consistent savings and reduce exposure to future energy market fluctuations.

Our Solution

285kWp Rooftop Solar PV System for Hoseley Bank Farm

The Rawson Solar team designed and installed a 285kWp rooftop solar PV system, featuring 655 high-efficiency solar panels. The system now generates over 226,000kWh of clean, renewable energy each year, with the majority consumed directly on site. This commercial solar PV installation allows Hoseley Bank Farm to source a significant portion of its electricity from renewable energy while reducing reliance on the grid.

Benefits to the Client

Energy Savings and Carbon Reduction

  • Offsets over 32% of the farm’s annual electricity demand.
  • Reduces exposure to fluctuating energy prices.
  • Secures long-term financial savings and energy reliability.
  • Delivers measurable carbon reductions, supporting sustainable agriculture.

By adopting solar PV technology, Hoseley Bank Farm is demonstrating how agricultural businesses can combine operational efficiency with sustainability. Investing in renewable energy allows farms to cut costs, stabilise energy usage, and make meaningful progress toward carbon reduction targets.
